Frequently asked questions
The app isn't reading my speed or position.
This is almost always a location-permission issue. Check the following on your iPhone:
- Location permission. Open Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services, make sure Location Services is on, then find Road Monitor in the list and give it permission.
- Precise Location. In the same screen, make sure Precise Location is enabled. Without it, iOS supplies only an approximate position, which is not accurate enough for speed and zone monitoring.
- Low Power Mode. iOS limits background activity when Low Power Mode is on, which can affect location updates.
- Signal. GPS accuracy drops indoors, in tunnels and in underground car parks. Try again with a clear view of the sky.
What does Road Monitor Pro include?
Automatic zone detection (measuring starts when you enter a monitored section), alerts for Bulgarian roads you choose to watch, full statistics by period and by section, and unlimited trip history. Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.
I bought Pro but it isn't active.
Open the Pro screen in the app and tap “Restore Purchases”. Make sure you are signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account that made the purchase.
How do I cancel my subscription?
On your iPhone, open Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › Road Monitor. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your trips stay on your device after a subscription ends.
How is my data handled?
Your trips, speed measurements and location history stay on your device. Road Monitor has no accounts, analytics or advertising. If you enable Pro road alerts, an anonymous push token and the roads you select are sent to the Road Monitor server so it can deliver those alerts. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my data?
Removing the app deletes its local trips and settings. Removing your last watched road also deletes the anonymous road-alert registration from the Road Monitor server; inactive registrations expire after 90 days. There is no Road Monitor account to close. App Store purchase history is managed by Apple and can be restored through the app.
Reporting a problem
A short description of what you expected and what actually happened is usually enough for us to reproduce it. Screenshots help. If the issue happens while driving, please stay safe and send the details afterwards.
Drive safely and always follow the road signs. GPS accuracy and road conditions can affect detection and measurements.
