Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 September 2026
In short: HomeLog does not collect any data about you. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The developer has no servers that receive your information.
Your home data
Everything you add to HomeLog – homes, rooms, appliances, photos, documents, maintenance and repair history, prices and notes – is stored on your device.
If you turn on iCloud Sync (HomeLog+), this data is stored in your own private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit, so it can sync between your devices. It is protected by your Apple Account and is not accessible to the developer. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
Camera and photos
HomeLog uses the camera and your photo library only when you choose to photograph an appliance, scan a document, or pick a picture. Images are saved inside the app on your device (and in your iCloud if sync is on).
Smart Scan
When you scan a label or a receipt, the text is recognised on your iPhone with Apple's Vision framework. Nothing is uploaded to the developer or to any third party.
Notifications
Maintenance and warranty reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No reminder data is sent to a server.
Purchases
HomeLog+ is sold through the App Store. Payments are processed by Apple; the developer does not receive your payment details or personal information. The app only checks with the App Store whether HomeLog+ is active.
Export and sharing
PDF and CSV exports are created on your device. They are only shared when you choose to share them, with the apps or people you pick.
Children
HomeLog does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
Delete items or homes in the app, or delete the app to remove its data from the device. To remove synced data from iCloud, go to Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage › HomeLog on your iPhone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
