Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
In short: TailScreen does not collect any data about you. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The developer runs no servers and never receives your screen, input or clipboard.
Your screen, input and clipboard
When you connect, the Mac sends its screen to your iPad, and the iPad sends mouse, touch and keyboard input back. This happens directly between your own devices over your Tailscale network, which encrypts the connection. TailScreen only accepts connections from your tailnet or from the Mac itself.
Clipboard sync
Text you copy on the Mac while connected is placed on the iPad clipboard, and the Paste button sends iPad text to the Mac. You can switch off Mac-to-iPad clipboard sync in the ⋯ menu. Items that password managers mark as concealed are never sent.
Pairing
The first connection uses a one-time PIN. A random pairing key is then stored in the Keychain on both devices so later connections need no PIN. You can forget pairings on either device at any time.
Permissions on the Mac
Screen Recording is used only to stream the screen to your paired iPad. The Accessibility permission is used only to post the mouse and keyboard input that you send from the iPad.
Purchases
TailScreen is sold through the App Store. Apple processes payments; the developer does not receive your payment details or personal information.
Children
TailScreen does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
